Entrance

I have been to this restaurant twice. Only.

I backed out a little bit when I see the entrees to be $20 at the cheapest. Then also comes the maki rolls at about $12 each. In the end, I just order a plate of Japanese fried rice and it cost $15. The fried rice is okay, but the other entrees that I saw from my other friends are not particularly special or appealing. That makes me curious why prices at this restaurant can be so costly.

The only thing might be because of its decoration and the staffs. The staffs at Godaiko are really nice and they do try to tend to your needs at the shortest time possible. The restaurant has quite a nice Japanese style decoration in here. At least 2 plasma TV at the main dining area, at least 2 tatami private rooms, and they have a sake bar also. Probably it will fit people who are just trying to hang out and have fun. But it is definitely not a good-valued eatery.

Enough said, I don't have much more good things to say about it. The sushi rolls are not even average, it's quite sub-par. The rice is quite dry, and the fish is not really fresh. No special rolls that I have not seen before. Well...

Good:
The decoration is quite nice and they have tatami rooms, 2 for 1 maki rolls, good service.
Bad: Way overpriced. The entrees and sushi rolls are like 30% more expensive than their peers(at the same level)

Conclusion: I've tried it twice(2nd time because of a forced situation) but it doesn't attract me for a third visit for 3 years. Sorry.

Verdict: C+
