black sesame icecream

Recommended! Black Sesame Icecream! Hard to find in the United States.

I have visited this restaurant no less than 50 times and it is right across the street from my apartment and I have been there since their first day of opening.

Their quality has been consistent over the 3 years and their businesses has grown really well. It is often packed with customers at all times now and you will have to wait for about 15-20 minutes at peak hours.

I have tried almost every item on the menu and their chef-creation rolls would be best. Their lunch bento would be recommended too because it is relatively a bargain in Ann Arbor at $8 a bento with tempura and a main entree.

As for dinner, entrees are about $12 and you will ended up paying about $15-18 for the whole meal. The ice-cream in here is highly regarded, at least from me. They have green tea, red been, black sesame(new flavor), mango, coffee, vanilla, chocolate- $1.99 for 3 scoops. Even cheaper than what you can find outside in grocery stores, so I will stock up whenever my fridge is running low of ice-cream.

Lunch chirashi is a good bargain also, if you are not looking for top notch fish. In general, the sashimi fish in the restaurant is not too fresh and it is a bit icy at times for the nigiri rolls. They do not use real wasabi. The store is owned by some Korean ladies who are always at the restaurant.

Good: The black sesame ice-cream! Oh my! Try the spider hand-rolls and the sadako crunch roll (their specialty)

Bad: The normal nigiri sushi looks really good but doesn't taste that fresh when you try it. This is a campus restaurant and packed with western students, so I guess they have customized their tastes to suit their main customers better.

This is my regular dining place. I have to come back to curb my cravings for sushi. So B normally in absolute sense and B+ when I am really starving.

Verdict: B to B+
